Discover the Village of Katouna and Its Surroundings

Katouna is not far from the island's capital city Lefkada. Thanks to its location, however, the mountain village has retained its authentic character and remains largely undisturbed by tourism.

Located around the village square you'll find the cosiest traditional Greek tavern (a real insiders' tip), a restaurant serving innovative Greek cuisine and a small café that doubles as a corner store.

At the foot of the mountain lies the fishing village Lygia, with its small harbour and beach.

Fall in Love With the Island

When driving over the dam and into the town of Lefkada, the first thing you'll notice are the rows and rows of sailing boats in its harbour. But the island's capital is much more than a run-of-the-mill holiday destination. Both in- and outside the busy season Lefkada is a lively small town with excellent infrastructure, and a diverse cuisine and nightlife. Lefkada’s architecture and culture are shaped by the decades of venetian influences in its history.

The island’s landscape is as beautiful as it is diverse. The east coast, opposite the mainland, will win you over with its fishing villages, small coves, and calm waters, while the west offers spectacular cliffs and long sandy beaches. In between the two, Lefkada boasts vast highlands that reach up to 1.100 meters in height, and appealing destinations like waterfalls, monasteries and countless idyllic towns and villages.

Over on the mainland, beautiful towns like Preveza and Ioannina and countless historical sites are waiting for you.

See you in Katouna!
